9 twin cities
The Angouleme - Foreign Cities Twinning Committee is an association (law 1901), created in 1977 to bring together democratically citizens of all stripes and from all socio-professional categories.
It promotes interaction and cooperation between municipalities and their citizens.
It intends to promote friendship, mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue, for peace.

Today, Angouleme is twinned with 9 towns: Bury (England), Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain), Turda (Romania), Guelendjik (Russia), Hildesheim (Germany), Segou (Mali), Hoffman Estates (USA), Saguenay (Quebec), Chaves (Portugal).

Projects have been developed such as supporting the creation of comic strips of young authors in the Twin Cities, an immersion course at the Segou hospital... There are as many towns as projects and different cultures!
Sometimes the Commitee organizes travels in the twin cities for everyone.
