CHAPELLE DES CORDELIERS

Church of a former convent.
In the early 13th century, a beggar religious order moved to Angouleme: the Cordeliers. They built a convent in the west of the city, the church attached to the Beaulieu hospital, two buildings and a few traces of the cloister of which still remain.

In the nave is the grave of the writer Jean-Louis Guez de Balzac born in Angoulême (1597-1654).
